December 28, 2003: Despite mild temperatures and no snow, this 6-year-old is determined to use his new sled -- Fairfax, VA. Surprisingly, it worked fairly well on the grass. The high temperature for the day was 52 degrees.

December 24, 2003: A Christmas Eve sunset. While last Christmas Eve featured snow in the DC area, this Christmas Eve produced a vivid sunset after rain clouds cleared from west to east.
